Electronic Records & Signature Consent

This disclosure explains how SwiftSignet handles electronic records and signatures. A signer must provide transaction-specific consent before signing through SwiftSignet.

1. Consent to electronic records and signatures

By checking the consent box and signing a document through SwiftSignet, you consent to use electronic records and electronic signatures for that transaction. Your electronic signature is intended to have the same effect as a handwritten signature where applicable law permits electronic signing.

2. How consent is recorded

SwiftSignet records the consent event with the signing event. Depending on the transaction, the audit record may include the signer identifier, name entered for signature, date and time, IP address, browser/user-agent information, time zone/locale information, document and signer identifiers, and the version of this consent disclosure.

3. Review before signing

You should review the document, fields, recipients and any sender-provided disclosures before signing. SwiftSignet does not determine whether the document or transaction is lawful or appropriate for electronic execution.

4. Withdrawing consent

If you do not want to sign electronically, do not continue with the signing process. For transactions where withdrawal of consent is legally relevant, contact the sender and SwiftSignet at hello@swiftsignet.com. Withdrawal may affect your ability to complete the transaction electronically.

5. Paper copies and record retention

Where applicable law provides a right to receive a paper copy, the responsible party may provide one according to its procedures. SwiftSignet may retain electronic records according to customer settings, service terms, security needs and legal obligations.

6. Technical requirements

You need a supported internet-connected device, a modern browser capable of displaying the document, and the ability to receive required email communications. If your device cannot reliably display or retain the record, do not sign until the issue is resolved.

7. Important legal limitations

Not every document or transaction is eligible for electronic execution under every law. Certain categories of transactions may have special rules or exclusions. SwiftSignet is not a law firm and cannot determine legal sufficiency for your specific transaction.
